Ouachita Green has made a concentrated effort to speak to students in Kindergarten through 5th grades in public, private and homeschools. We also have a vital intern program with middle and high school students actively involved in litter abatement, education, beautification and recycling.

Waste Collected

Our Household Hazardous Waste event was held on March 15th from 1-4pm after severe weather threats. 135 volunteers came to help, 526 cars drove through and a total of 100,905 pounds of hazardous waste was collected from Ouachita Parish citizens.

Our annual Water Sweep event was held on September 13th, 2025 from 8am-11am at 13 locations across Ouachita Parish. 233 people volunteered and 11,340 pounds of waste was removed from our waterways.

America Recycles Day

Our annual America Recycles Day event was held on November 15, 2025 from 9am-1pm at the Monroe Civic Center. 155 people volunteered and 34,242 pounds of recycling was collected from parish residents.
